Collecting information on Nurse SA visitors
Nurse SA collects information on users on the Site and the websites and apps of our related entities (“Related Sites”), including information you provide to us directly and information we collect automatically through use of software (including cookies, tags, applets, scripts and other similar technologies (referred collectively to as “cookies” below)) that is part of or placed on your browser or on your mobile device. We use this information for a variety of purposes, including to customise and improve your experience of our services (e.g. by remembering your details if you have selected the ‘Auto Login’ option on one of our apps), to analyse, develop and test our services, to make business decisions, to assist with online payments, and to report to our advertisers and business partners on results achieved through our services.
This information may be received from or shared with Nurse SA’s related entities and Nurse SA partners. This is done for the purpose of providing you with the best and most efficient career management and recruitment services and to tailor the advertisements you see on the Site, Related Sites and other third party websites and apps.
IP Addresses
Nurse SA’s web servers gather your IP address to assist with the diagnosis of problems or support issues with our services, and to monitor the use of our Site, including the monitoring of the location of our users.
Cookies
Nurse SA uses cookies to provide Candidates with a better browsing experience. These cookies collect details such as preferences and click activity for measurement and for features such as remembering your details for ‘Auto Login’ (provided you have chosen this option), and remembering your search criteria for the ‘My Last Search’ function.
Nurse SA uses cookies in respect of Advertisers to assist Nurse SA in improving website performance, making business decisions, aiding in error reporting, aiding online payments and testing new functionality. These cookies collect details such as preferences and click activity for measurement and for features such as remembering your details for ‘Auto Login’ (provided you have chosen this option).
Advertising
Nurse SA also uses cookies to tailor advertisements from Nurse SA, our related entities, our business partners and Advertisers that appear on the Site, Related Sites or other third party websites and apps (“Advertising Locations”) to your interests, actions and behaviour on those Advertising Locations (which may be collected through the use of cookies on those Advertising Locations), your Nurse SA Profile and/or information provided as a registered user on the Advertising Locations. Advertisements may be targeted to Candidates, Hirers, or other types of visitors to those Advertising Locations.
For example:
- for Candidates, we may target users that have searched for a nursing job on Nurse SA, with advertising for nursing jobs for a specific Advertiser, to be run while on Site or off Site; and
- for Hirers, we may target users that visited the Nurse SA Advertiser Centre that are not registered Nurse SA Advertisers, with advertising encouraging them to register an Advertiser Account with Nurse SA.
You can limit the use of your information for purposes of targeted display advertising by updating your browser settings to block cookies or by updating the advertising settings in the system settings of your mobile device (see “Your Preferences” below). Even if you apply to opt-out of the use of information of advertisement targeting, we will still use the information we are able to collect for other purposes as set out in this Privacy Statement, and you may still see contextual advertising that is tailored according to other content on the pages you visit.
Your Preferences
If you do not wish to have cookies active whilst you browse the Site you may be able to “opt out” by modifying the privacy options in your browser. However, doing so will prevent access to some areas of the Site and limit your use of some of the Nurse SA services.
In addition to the above, where users access the Nurse SA mobile applications (“Nurse SA Apps”) we use third party software development kits (SDK’s) and services which collect information relating to your use of the Nurse SA Apps, including tracking of app installs and re-engagement. This information is used to tailor and measure advertisements to install and/or use the Nurse SA Apps which appear on third party sites/apps and are targeted towards users’ usage preferences.
If you want to opt-out from the collection and usage of information for advertisement targeting you can do so by disabling tracking permission for the Nurse SA app (Settings > Privacy > Tracking) on your iOS version 14.5+ device, by enabling “Limit Ad Tracking” (Settings > Privacy > Tracking) on your iOS device older than version 14.5 or by enabling the “Opting out of interest-based ads” option (Settings > Privacy > Tracking) on your Android device. By opting out from ad targeting Nurse SA and its third party providers will not use the collected information to target ads to you, however the information collected may continue to be used by Nurse SA for, amongst other things, estimation of user numbers, advertising fraud detection and debugging.
Third Party Measurement
In order to better understand our users, Nurse SA utilises third party measurement companies to assess Site and mobile Site traffic. A cookie is used to collect the following information on the usage of the Site:
- The number of page views (or page impressions) that occur on the Site;
- The number of unique visitors to the Site;
- How long these unique visitors (on average) spend on the Site when they do visit; and
- Common entry and exit points into the Site.
For Nurse SA visitors that are not Registered Users, this aggregated information is collated and provided to Nurse SA to assist in analysing the usage of the Site. For Registered Users, this information is connected across different sessions on various devices and platforms to provide a more accurate total of the number of users prior to aggregation. This data is also accessible by media organisations and research companies, for the purpose of conducting industry comparisons with other Internet websites.
Collecting information on Registered Users
As part of registering with Nurse SA, we collect Personal Information about Registered Users in order for Registered Users to take full advantage of Nurse SA’s services. To do this it will be necessary for Registered Users to provide additional information to Nurse SA, which is accurate, up-to-date and complete. It is a Registered User’s choice to provide us with their personal information. However, if a Registered User chooses not to provide us with the necessary personal information, we may not be able to provide them with some or all of Nurse SA’s services.
Registration
Becoming a Registered User allows you to take advantage of more of the tools, services and resources that may assist you in finding a job. To become a Registered User you will need to submit some Personal Information such as your name and email address. You may access your information at any time by clicking ‘Settings’ on ‘the Site’. Nurse SA may also use this information in order to customise the service we provide to you. For example, Nurse SA may use this information to create a Nurse SA Profile that you may choose to use in the future. However, we will never activate this Nurse SA Profile (or any other service) without your express consent.
Other information Nurse SA may collect
Nurse SA may also collect and use information about your job seeking needs, characteristics and priorities by collecting and analysing data about how you use, or interact with, the products and services offered on the Site (including, by way of example, usage patterns around how regularly you update your profile or how often you submit job applications). Nurse SA may use this information, including through automated processes applying algorithms, for the purposes set out in this Privacy Statement, including without limitation to better tailor Nurse SA’s offerings to your job seeking needs and to provide more targeted services to Advertisers and to Candidates including to allow more targeted job opportunities to be surfaced to Candidates and to create ‘signals’ to advertisers that you may be more or less approachable for job opportunities (Approachability Signal).
JobAlerts
JobAlerts is an optional service available to Registered Users. Nurse SA requests that Registered Users provide their email address, and information relating to their employment preferences, so that Nurse SA can notify Registered Users via email of jobs within their specified criteria. Registered Users can modify or delete their JobAlerts preferences (or their JobAlerts account) at any time by going to the ‘Saved Searches’ area of the Site.
Users of the Site may also subscribe to JobAlerts without creating a Nurse SA Profile and becoming a Registered User by electing to do so when searching for jobs on the Site. If you choose to subscribe to JobAlerts in this manner, any Personal Information you provide us when creating your JobAlerts subscription will be stored and used by Nurse SA in the same manner as if you were a Registered User. You will be able to unsubscribe from JobAlerts subscriptions at any point in time by clicking on the unsubscribe link within the email. In order to best utilise Nurse SA’s services, we recommend creating a Nurse SA Profile (see below).
Storing resumes
Registered Users may elect to store up to 10 resumes in their ‘Profile’ area, and use those resumes when applying for a job and to supplement their Nurse SA Profile. Deleting a resume from the ‘Profile’ area will mean it is no longer accessible to the Registered User. Deleted records may still be stored by Nurse SA in testing or backup systems for a period of time.
Where resumes are held in testing environments, these are held in closed and secure environments and information is only used for the purpose of internal software testing. Information held in backup systems is only held for the purposes of backing up systems in the event of a data loss.
If you choose a stored resume as your default resume Nurse SA may use an algorithm that uses that resume, along with other factors, to calculate how you may rate against other candidates in relation to job opportunities that are surfaced to you following a job search or otherwise through Nurse SA products. This assessment may be shown to you when you are viewing a job ad and may also be shown to advertisers as an indication of Nurse SA’s assessment of your suitability to a position that an advertiser is trying to fill.
Nurse SA Profile
A Nurse SA Profile can include a resume, employment and educational history, contact details, minimum salary expectations, and preferred job classifications and locations. You can edit your Nurse SA Profile at any time.
Advertisers are able to search Nurse SA’s Profile database to find and contact relevant candidates. Upon registration, all Registered Users will be asked to create a personal Nurse SA Profile (‘Nurse SA Profile’) by providing some key information and selecting one of the privacy settings outlined below. Candidates without Nurse SA Profiles will also be required to create a Nurse SA Profile when they first apply for a job on the Site. Registered Users can elect how much of their Nurse SA Profile they wish to share with Advertisers in the following ways:
In circumstances where Advertisers are searching to find and contact potential candidates, Registered users can elect one of the following privacy settings:
Standard
If you elect a “Standard” privacy setting for your Nurse SA Profile, then:
- except for your resume and contact details, your Nurse SA Profile can be seen by Advertisers searching the Talent Search database;
- if an Advertiser wishes to purchase access to your Nurse SA Profile, your full Nurse SA Profile including your resume and contact details will be emailed immediately to the relevant Advertiser;
- an Advertiser may contact you via a Talent Search Connection Method;
- if you choose to follow a company within the Company Reviews section of the Site, your Nurse SA Profile, except for your resume and contact details, may be made available to that company; and
- Nurse SA may parse information from your CV to populate your Nurse SA Profile.
Limited
If you elect a “Limited” privacy setting for your Nurse SA Profile, then:
- except for your resume and contact details, your Nurse SA Profile can be seen by Advertisers searching the Talent Search database (but Advertisers cannot purchase your resume and contact details);
- an Advertiser may contact you via a Talent Search Connection Method; and
- if you choose to follow a company within the Company Reviews section of the Site, your Nurse SA Profile, except for your resume and contact details, may be made available to that company.
Hidden
If you elect a “Hidden” privacy setting for your Nurse SA Profile, then your Nurse SA Profile is completely hidden (thereby preventing Advertisers from viewing your Nurse SA Profile).All information provided by you when creating a Nurse SA Profile (including your name, resume, email address, telephone numbers, employment and educational history) may be used by Nurse SA for the purpose of improving placement opportunities for you or for tailoring specific products to you.
In circumstances where applying for a job opportunity requires some or all of your profile to be sent to the Advertiser, Registered Users are able to amend their Nurse SA Profile prior to applying.
Registered Users can modify their resume at any time, or modify the privacy options in relation to their Nurse SA Profile at any time, by going to the Profile area of the Site.
To delete your Nurse SA Profile you will need to delete your entire account with Nurse SA. Nurse SA reserves the right to disable a Nurse SA Profile at its sole discretion (for example if information is found or believed to be untrue or being stored for improper purposes).
Sharing your Nurse SA Profile
Nurse SA are currently trialling the ability for you to share a summary version of your Nurse SA Profile via a shareable link (Shared Profile). Once logged into their Nurse SA Profile, candidates can elect to share their Shared Profile by copying and using a shareable link to their Nurse SA Profile. The link can be used by candidates to help you stand out and to share information about yourself, including sharing the link by email, posting online or including it in resumes and cover letters.
You understand that anyone with the link to your Shared Profile:
- will be able to see the information from your Nurse SA Profile listed below; and
- will be able to reshare and reuse that link.
You may turn OFF the ability for people to access your Shared Profile in the Profile Visibility settings of your Nurse SA Profile at any time. Whilst sharing your Nurse SA Profile is turned ON, those with the link to your Shared Profile will continue to be able to view and share the information about you as set out below. However, your Shared Profile is not otherwise searchable by the public.
Your Shared Profile will include your:
- name;
- personal summary;
- career history;
- education;
- licences and certifications (including your COVID-19 vaccination status); and
- skills and languages.
When you share your Shared Profile, you will not be sharing your:
- Contact information, such as:
- Email;
- Phone number; and
- Live in location
- ‘About your next role’ information, such as:
- Availability, right to work and approachability status; and
- Preferred work type, location, classification and salary expectation
- Resume.
Your Shared Profile is a live document. If you make changes to your Nurse SA Profile, those changes will be reflected in your Shared Profile in real time.
Only hirers or candidates registered with Nurse SA can view your Shared Profile.
This trial is available to a limited number of candidates only at this stage.
Online Applications
Making an online application to a job advertisement on Nurse SA is a free and optional service that requires Candidates to complete mandatory fields (for example first name, last name, telephone number and email) so that the Advertiser can identify and contact the applicant. When first applying for a job, Candidates who do not have a Nurse SA Profile will also be required to create a Nurse SA Profile based on the information contained in their application – you may subsequently edit your Nurse SA Profile here. Registered Users will also have the option of easily attaching a saved resume. When you apply for a job advertisement on the Site, applications, including attachments and cover letters, are:
- forwarded directly on to the Advertiser and/or its nominated representative; or
- stored in the Nurse SA Advertiser Centre on behalf of the Advertiser. The Nurse SA Advertiser Centre allows Advertisers to easily and effectively manage their recruitment process via one central facility made available by Nurse SA.
Nurse SA will also retain this information in order to customise the service we provide to Candidates.
Some advertisers may also require you to answer a list of questions selected by that Advertiser as part of your online application. By answering the Application questions you acknowledge that Nurse SA will provide your answers to that Advertiser and may use your answers to populate your Nurse SA Profile and enable Advertisers to surface that information when using Talent Search. Nurse SA may also use your answers to improve our products, including through improving our search and matching capabilities.
By applying to a position advertised on Nurse SA you are requesting that Nurse SA pass the information you provide to the relevant Advertiser and/or their nominated representative. Any questions you have relating to a position advertised on Nurse SA, your online application and/or the status of your application should be directed directly to the Advertiser or their nominated agent, not Nurse SA. Nurse SA reserves the right to disable or delete a saved resume or cover letter at its discretion.
Advertisers are required by Nurse SA to comply with all applicable laws, including relevant obligations relating to the use and disclosure of Personal Information that are outlined in the Privacy Act and any other relevant laws, including those governing health information. The use of your information (personal or otherwise) by these Advertisers is not within the control of Nurse SA and we cannot accept responsibility for the conduct of these companies.
Candidates have the right to directly contact Advertisers to request access to or the deletion of any Personal Information that you have sent as part of an application or that has been provided to them as part of a Nurse SA Profile.
In some circumstances, sending your Nurse SA Profile with an application will be required.
In order to apply for some job opportunities, some or all of your Nurse SA Profile will be required to be shared with the Advertiser.
When this is required, notwithstanding the privacy setting chosen by you when creating your Nurse SA Profile (whether it be Standard, Limited or Hidden as set out above), both your online application and some or all of your Nurse SA Profile (which can include information submitted by you in connection with your employment, educational history, contact details, minimum salary expectations, vaccination status and preferred job classifications and locations) will be shared with the Advertiser.
Nurse SA will notify you when your Nurse SA Profile will be part of your application. Nurse SA will also specify which parts of your Nurse SA Profile will be sent to the Advertiser with your application.
You can edit your Nurse SA Profile here at any time and prior to submitting your application.
Advertisers
Nurse SA collects the company name, business address and billing address of Advertisers. It also collects the name, email address and phone number of a primary contact (also referred to on the Site as the ‘administrator’). Advertisers can choose to add additional users to their account, in which case Nurse SA will collect the name and email address of those other users. In addition, Nurse SA may collect a mobile phone number for each Advertiser user which will be used by Nurse SA to occasionally send a text message to verify the user and help keep the Advertisers’ account secure.
Advertisers can change the company name or billing address by emailing accounts@nursesa.com and can change any other details by emailing customerservice@nursesa.com. To change the mobile number used to verify an Advertiser user account, please review the Help Page. Nurse SA uses these details to manage your account and help keep your account secure, including sending Advertisers applications of Candidates, contacting Advertisers if there is an issue with their job ad and organising payment and invoicing of the account.

Registered Users may ‘opt-out’ of receiving promotional emails from Nurse SA in the ‘Settings’ area of the Site, otherwise Users may opt out by clicking ‘unsubscribe’ in the footer of an email received. Advertisers may opt out of receiving any SMS text messages from Nurse SA by replying STOP to those SMS text messages. Nurse SA will continue to send you non-promotional emails (and where applicable text messages) concerning the management and security of your Nurse SA account.
When we speak to you over the phone we may record the calls for training, verification and quality assurance purposes. Any Personal Information collected on those calls is used in accordance with this Privacy Statement.
